RESEARCH WORKSHOP

During this workshop, attendees will learn more about tourist engagements with war-related heritage in (urban) landscapes. They will do so by looking at the Liberation Route, an international memorial route that follows the path of the Allied Forces during the end-phase of World War II, and thanatourism, or tourist activities related to death and human tragedy. The speakers will present examples and engage with the audience through discussion.

---

To enable a more lively discussion during the session, the speakers would like the attendees to visit the following website

Go to http://liberationroute.com/

Explore this website and try to think what your opinion is about the organisation Liberation Route Europe, especially about the way they connect commercial tours with history education about the Second World War and commemorations of this war.
